Sports’ Returns in Jeopardy, David Samson Interview (Sports Talk Chicago / WCKG 6-23-20)

Jon Zaghloul

On today’s show, I address the most recent uptick in COVID-19 diagnoses across America’s biggest sports, and question whether it’s worth promoting their return. I also catch up with David Samson, former President of the Miami Marlins and host of Nothing Personal on the CBS Sports Podcast Network. We discuss the latest news surrounding the MLB labor dispute, and weigh the pros and cons of having live sports resume. We also talk about Commissioner Manfred’s role in the negotiations, and how he’s handled his job throughout this situation. Later in the show, David recounts his successful tenure with the Marlins, which includes the 2003 World Series Championship, and shares a story involving the Marlins locker room after the Steve Bartman incident in the 2003 NLCS!

Remember to tune in every day at 2p Central to listen to the show live on AM 1530 WCKG! National audiences can find WCKG on the iHeartRadio and Radio.com apps!
